Treasure Gymnasts at competitions:
It is important that both gymnasts and parents remember that when they are selected by the coaches to take part in competitions they are representing not only themselves but also Treasure Gymnastics.
No coach or gymnast should approach any competition official. If you have any issues during a competition please report to a club coach who will take appropriate action.
Gymnasts must show good sportsmanship and are expected to be polite to competitors regardless of their team or any previous contact.
Gymnasts need to arrive at the competition venue at an agreed time. It is bad for the gymnasts preparation (and the coaches stress level!) if the gymnast arrives late. All gymnasts are expected to arrive with their hair done unless a team hairdresser is planned to do this. Make up must be kept to a minimum.
Gymnasts are expected to remain at the competition until ALL medal presentations are made; regardless of the results.
Gymnasts should have their own gym bag (preferably a club bag) with a packed lunch and plenty of water. Gymnasts will be told by their coach when to have their lunch. Any medication should also be in their bag and the coach informed where necessary. Children should take responsibility for their own property. Valuables should be left at home.
Parents/Guardians are responsible for transporting their children/gymnasts to and from the competition venue and for organising children's food for the duration. It is also important that parents ensure competing gymnasts get to bed at an appropriate time the night before the competition.
If long distance travel is required then parents/appointed adults are expected to book their own accommodation at the agreed 'Club' competition hotel for Friday and Saturday evenings. Gymnasts can stay in rooms with parents or with other gymnasts.
Gymnasts are the coaches responsibility during the competition and must not go to parents in the audience unless sent by a coach.
All gymnasts representing the club at competitions must wear a club tracksuit, and club leotard. Any non club t-shirts / clothing must be removed before entering the competition arena. Gymnasts competing at low level competitions such as mega gym should arrive in club hoody or t-shirt if they do not have a tracksuit.
All club kit is available from our on-line shop. Do not leave orders until the last minute as we do not have every size in stock!
All gymnasts representing the club must wear the club “kingfisher” coloured leotard, recreational gymnasts will have the star version while squads must wear the “asymmetric” stlyle. For information or to purchase see our 'Club Shop'.
If special competition rules require an alternative style of leotard (e.g. long sleeves etc) you will be informed of this in advance.
