Our club rising 5 and beginner classes cover general basics of gymnastics and are suitable for boys and girls.

The sessions are planned centrally and have a 2 weekly lesson plan focussed on a curriculum of continuous improvement of basic skills.

As well as learning handstands, cartwheels, and trying out various apparatus, gymnasts learn other valuable skills including team work, self challenge and resilience.

Each session starts with a warm up game and then splits in to small groups for apparatus and skill work.  It finishes with stretching and flexibility skills.

Our stars of the week and month reward gymnasts for effort and participation not just achievement, whilst our two award schemes help gymnasts to develop as individuals and to see their next challenges.

Why should my child do Gymnastics?

There are obvious benefits to encouraging a healthy, active lifestyle but there are so many more benefits to gymnastics.

Think about sport and physical activity like any other learning objective you have for your child,If you want your child to learn to read you don’t start with Shakespeare!  Physical activity in the same,  We start with the Fundamentals of Movement - Our ABC’s (Agility, Balance, Coordination). Just like you need to learn your letter sounds to read, you need to learn lots of fine and gross motor skills to be “sporty”

Gymnastics is brilliant for challenging children with a range of movement patterns

No you may not see your child tumbling like Simone Biles or Swinging round the bars like Beth Tweddle in their first session, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be great at our sport!

Along side the weekly classes the club has a number of activities throughout the year open to all members.  The easiest way to keep up to date is to keep an eye out on our Facebook page and website calendar.  We also send out regular emails on events.  The main events are:
